Warnings
It’s a head band - designed to hold your hair back and bring style to a summers day or sunshine to a winters day! So……
Don’t chew them. Yuk!
Don’t give them to little ones under 3 - they would probably chew them or strangle themselves. Neither of which are very good.
Up cycling your Alice Band
So what could you do with your Alice Band? Up cycling requires a little bit of imagination sometimes - here are a few of our ideas…..
Add some jewels (not your mums best jewellery!!), sequins, or flowers to give your band a seasonal look.
Wrap some ribbon round your band to change the look completely. You’ll probably need a bit of help from an adult with this idea - as fixing the ribbon will need a hot glue gun.
Don’t forget, if you get fed up of your lovely hair band (as we all change our minds from time to time!) or if you cut your hair and no longer need it - donate it to a family member or friend. Don’t forget to ask an adult if it’s ok!
Up cycling ……
Your show-stopping Alice band has arrived…… it’s so exciting! As you rush off to see if the band is princess worthy or partytastic and abandon the card they came on, take a breath. Do you throw the card away? Well let’s be honest, you could! But you could also do something else with it instead. Try these few ideas for inspiration…..
Use the card as a bookmark. Use your pens or pencils to decorate it - if you want - and slip it between the pages of your favourite book.
Use the card to store ribbon, wool or thread. We always keep ribbon, wool and twine that comes on presents, new clothes and all manor of things. To store the newly acquired ribbon; simply wind it around the card. You might need a little bit of tape to hold it in place or ask an adult to cut a slit into the side (about 1cm deep) and the end of your ribbon can sit happily in there.
