It’s an Alice band - designed to hold your hair back and bring festive cheer! So……
Don’t chew them. Yuk!
Don’t give them to little ones under 3 - they would probably chew them or poke themselves in the eye. Neither of which are very good.
Don’t stretch or pull the sides. The Alice bands just need to be gently placed on your head and pushed back. If you pull them too far they will snap. They are not a bungee elastic and I’m sure your head is not enormous so the bands don’t need to be stretched to fit a giant!
Up cycling your Alice band
Once Christmas is over you can always put your Alice band away for next year. Ruby has a box that she stores all her Christmas things in. They don’t get lost and they are a nice surprise the following year!
So what else could you do with your Alice band? Up cycling requires a little bit of imagination sometimes - here are a few of our ideas…..
Add some jewels (not your mums best jewellery!!), sequins, or flowers to give your band an extra seasonal look.
Wrap some ribbon round your band to change the look completely. You’ll probably need a bit of help from an adult with this idea - as fixing the ribbon will need a hot glue gun.
Don’t forget, if you get fed up of your lovely Alice Band (as we all change our minds from time to time!) donate it to a family member or friend. Don’t forget to ask an adult if it’s ok!
