Use the tag as a bookmark. Use your pens or pencils to decorate it - if you want - and slip it between the pages of your favourite book.
Use the card to store ribbon, wool or thread. We always keep ribbon, wool and twine that comes on presents, new clothes and all manor of things. To store the newly acquired ribbon; simply wind it around the tag. You might need a little bit of tape to hold it in place or ask an adult to cut a slit into the side (about 1cm deep) and the end of your ribbon can sit happily in there.
Use the tie again to tie something together such as a sunflower to a stake, a bobbin to a cotton reel or a broken key ring to its hoop.
Upcycling your Scrunchie
So what could you do with your Scrunchie? Up cycling requires a little bit of imagination sometimes - here are a few of our ideas…..
Change its use! It doesn’t always have to be a scrunchie. It could be a bracelet if it’s not too tight or loose, used to identify your water bottle, or hung and with the help of some mini pegs or paper clips used to display pictures or cards on the tails.
Don’t forget, if you get fed up of your scrunchie (as we all change our minds from time to time!) donate it to a family member, friend or to your local charity shop. Don’t forget to ask an adult if it’s ok!
