Warnings
This is an deliciously pretty purse designed to store a few small treasures or a bit of pocket money in style. So seriously…..
Don’t put bricks in them. For a start they just won’t fit! Also because the purse is for SMALL treasures - not a lorry load of bits and bobs!
Don’t chew the purse - why would you? YUK!
Dont give the purse to little ones. The purse is not designed to be chewed, to store lunch or half eaten snacks in, to be dunked in the toilet or anything else a little rascal may decide is a good idea!
Long Cord Alert. As with any long cord you need to be careful and use the purse strap as a purse strap. If you wrap it round your neck you could choke. If you wrap it tightly round your fingers, they could turn blue - that’s not a good thing!
Up cycling ……
Your stylish purse has arrived…… it’s so exciting! As you rush off to see what treasures it will hold and abandon the tag they came with, take a breath. Do you throw the tag away? Well let’s be honest, you could! But you could also do something else with it instead. Try these few ideas for inspiration…..
Use the tag as a small bookmark. Use your pens or pencils to decorate it - if you want - and slip it between the pages of your favourite book.
Use the card to store ribbon, wool or thread. We always keep ribbon, wool and twine that comes on presents, new clothes and all manor of things. To store the newly acquired ribbon; simply wind it around the tag. You might need a little bit of tape to hold it in place or ask an adult to cut a slit into the side (about 1cm deep) and the end of your ribbon can sit happily in there.
Upcycling your Purse
So what could you do with your Purse? Up cycling requires a little bit of imagination sometimes - here are a few of our ideas…..
Change its use! It doesn’t always have to be a purse. It can be hung up and used as storage for tickets or keepsakes. It can become a snug house for a teddy or toy. Hang it in the car to keep your tissues, sweets or pencils close by.
Don’t forget, if you get fed up of your purse (as we all change our minds from time to time!) donate it to a family member, friend or to your local charity shop. Don’t forget to ask an adult if it’s ok!
